Elite® Announce ‘Barbarian’ ZX Spectrum - for Apple iPhone / Touch & iPad

Elite Systems, the long established UK based developer and electronic publisher of games for portable, mobile and other devices has announced, the launch of �Barbarian� � Palace Software�s �signature� ZX Spectrum game from 1987 - as a stand-alone App for all iOS devices. Barbarian (for iPhone / iPod Touch) Barbarian HD (for iPad) A feature of the App (which is expected to go live on the iTunes App Store at around noon BST on Friday 22nd April and will later be offered as an in-app purchase within the �ZX Spectrum: Elite Collection� apps at around noon BST on Friday 29th April) is the support (either at launch, or in the first update) for TV-out on iPhone 4, 4thGeneration iPod Touch and iPad. (Requires, separately sold, Apple TV-Out Component Cable or Apple VGA Adapter, or 100% compatible). About ZX Spectrum: The ZX Spectrum is an 8-bit personal home computer released in the UK in 1982 by Sinclair Research Ltd. It sold in excess of 5 million units worldwide. The ZX Spectrum software library currently consists of some 10,000 games. About Palace Software: Palace Software was a British video game publisher and developer during the 1980s based in London, England. It was notable for the Barbarian and Cauldron series of games for 8-bit home computer platforms, in particular the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and Commodore 64. It caused some controversy with its advertisements in computer magazines, particularly for Barbarian II: The Dungeon of Drax which featured Page Three girl Maria Whittaker as a scantily-clad female warrior. Palace\'s developers included artist Steve Brown and musician Richard Joseph. In 1991, Palace Software\'s parent company, Palace Group, sold it.
