Commenting further upon the launch plans, Wilcox noted,
“The Worldwide release of the Apps will take place in late April to coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the launch of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum home computer. To commemorate this very special event, from 20th-27th April, 2012 only, all 100 games will be available for a sensational new release price of just £5.99/Euro6.99/US$8.99 (iPhone / iPod Touch) £8.99/Euro10.49/US$12.99 (iPad).”
Complimentary copies of the Apps will be made available to media and trade contacts on 18th April, 2012 (or earlier by agreement). A further announcement, including a full list of the available games, will be made at that time and prior to the release of the Apps.
Note: this app will NOT be updated with additional games. It’s being released specifically to celebrate the 30th Anniversary (23rd April, 2012) of the launch of the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. If you’re looking for the definitive ZX Spectrum app, to which new games are added every other month or so, then search for “ZX” at the iTunes App Store and then select either ‘ZX Spectrum: Elite Collection’ (for iPhone/Touch) or ‘ZX Spectrum: Elite Collection HD’ (for iPad).
